This DOES look beautiful. I’ve never had carrot cake with cinnamon icing before, always straight creamcheese! Stunning photos – I like the patterned crockery (and mixing bowl) :)

Hi Kerry! Yes the person was the manager of someone who’s recipes I had linked and posted – and those recipes were even freely available on the net! Had to take them all off. That’s why I was just curious regarding ones that we’ve had to pay for :) Thanks for responding, I feel the same as you. Yes beautiful NZ – I’ll check out the carrot cake!

Hi Christina,

Thanks for your message. No, I didn’t request permission to use the recipe. My philosophy is that as long as I give the source of the recipe credit then there should be no harm in it. However, if someone did object of course I would remove the recipe. (In this particular case I even included a link to Amazon where the book can be bought.) Was the person who approached you about putting others’ recipes on your blog the person who owned the recipes?

I see you are in New Zealand – wonderful country! I have a New Zealand carrot cake recipe on my blog – a family favourite.

Hi Foodie Two Shoes! I have Kim’s book too and love it. These were a fantastic recipe. I’m just wondering if you’ve gained permission from Kim to reproduce her recipe.. I just noticed in the front cover of the book the note under All Rights Reserved. I don’t know.. just wondering how you feel about this. I have recently been approached regarding rewriting recipes that aren’t available for free so have started removing them from my blog. Anyway – great blog – look forward to having a browse!

Kære Kerry
Hvor er det bar en smuk og farverig salat – den gør mig næsten helt glad bare at kigge på. Jeg kan i øvrigt godt relatere til det med billederne – og også det at madblogge helt generelt. Når lyset er væk (og det er jo oftest der, man har lavet maden), er det bare ikke spændende at tage billeder. Det glæder mig dog, at du alligevel finder lys ind imellem. Denne salat skal prøves.
